My Home/Vacation Property
A home or vacation property is a gift you may live in: The gift of a home or vacation property allows for a person to have full use of the property for the rest of their life. There is charitable deduction for the donor even though the Challenged Athletes Foundation will not receive the value of the gift for many years. With the donor reserving a “life estate” on the property deed, this is the rare kind of major gift where nothing seems to change for the donor. They continue to live in the home for the rest of their life.

A home or vacation property as a bequest: Many times our children have families of their own and do not live nearby. Their job and the business they own do not make it practical for them to ever come back and live in the old family home. Sometimes children become more financially affluent than their parents and do not have a need for their home or the money from its’ sale. Others of us do not have children and we are not close enough to any relatives to leave them such an important gift. To CAF the gift of a home or vacation property through a charitable bequest would be an extraordinary gift that would touch and changed many lives.
